i am a nice person. i care for others daily. but after giving myself to others for (what seems like) a long time, i’m ready to make a change.

i am going to pursue a new career. I am so excited.

lately the state of the world has left me feeling distraught and stressed. these feelings transformed into “i don’t know what to do now, it’s pointless anyway” thoughts. as we all know, negative thoughts feed negative events.

so i switched my brain’s wavelength to Positive.

I WILL achieve all my goals before year’s end.

1) Workout (at least) 4x a week.

2) Train and study for certification exam

3) Keep Going.

those seem simple enough. i’ve found if i don’t “stack” too many goals on top of each other, they are less likely to fall like Jenga pieces.

I Will Succeed.

sometimes life is too complicated. i really love taking photos. it makes me feel happy and like i’m seeing something i never noticed before. eventually, i must purchase another Samsung Digital. i just want to a) be able to take awesome pics with an old-skool feel and 2) be able to really capture all the textures that nature has to offer us. i’m very much into the picture thing…apparently i have been talented with a camera for many years, but it’s only recently that (i’ve noticed) photography has been a calming influence.i used to write. i will write again. my brain sometimes feels too scattered to concentrate on writing…it’s more befitting of my recent bouts of hyperactivity and scrambled thoughts to take a picture than it is to sit at a desk and write/type. also when i try to write something, it’s almost like my hands won’t work. they won’t say or draw or even attempt to do the things etched inside my head. the photos can just *pop* into life (granted that that *popping* of the shutter can happen 100 times but i may only be able to get 8 really amazing photos). when i *pop* out a poem or story, i’m more likely to worry about how much it sucks, than thinking that i’m actually talented. (i’m working on that.)

Everyone has a talent…even if it doesn’t feel that way. In undertaking the task of taking pictures for my own happiness, i’m getting more confident that i WILL publish that poem/nudes coffee table book that i’ve sooo desperately wanted to put my name on in the very near future. hell, let’s get real confident and say i’ll have SEVERAL poem/nudes coffee table books. we all have to dream something.

keep it as natural as possible.

I’ve had quite a bit of time off lately, so I’ve been visiting around my county and seeing old friends. It’s been nice to interact with adults. It’s also been nice to have a lot of Quiet Time. I’ve reflected a lot since last week…I feel ready to move back to the city. I know that in making certain choices for myself now, I’ll be able to reap the benefits later (in the form of my own country dream home, complete with farmland).

Living in the city is like a minor distraction from the life I had while growing up. I’ll always have a spot in my heart for gargantuan pines, the smell of rain, rural sunsets and exploring the lands our ancestors tramped upon. I dream daily of when I can step outside my door and into the country light again.

this weekend was my fiance’s birthday. he’s pretty rad. i love him (of course, or i wouldn’t have agreed to marriage.)

after tomorrow at around 2pm, i’ll officially have the whole week off. i plan on having a “brain dump” and just going rampant with creativity.

i also have to pack for our upcoming move. as excited as i am about leaving our shitty apartment, i’m not excited about the packing. sheesh.

very long day today. it’s good to work 14 hours and still be able to stand up straight. i have to admit, my current 10 hour and 14 hour days don’t bother me as much as my previous 8 hour days did. now i work pretty much for myself…i get to dictate my schedule, hours and days of work (or if i want to work at all).

infinitely better than the stress i used to deal with.

between thunderstorms

in a previous life, i was a poet and writer. i’d love to overcome the seemingly insurmountable Writer’s Block that i feel…but sometimes there’s something stuck just inside in my head, unwilling to show itself. to help it escape, i’ve taken up photography…truly one of the most relaxing things Ever. i took these pictures yesterday around my shitty apartment and the relaxed feeling has had far-reaching effects. it’s so good to see something through the lens that you hadn’t noticed with your naked eye.
